Happy Wednesday everyone, Sorry I have been hit and miss around here. Yesterday I took my daughter and her friend to Build a Bear. What fun we had even after only working all night and having only 2 hours sleep.

Hey!! Happy New Year.

Ya I know it's been awhile but live has been great and very busy. Christmas was fantastic here at the Millers. My sister and her grown children came to play on Christmas Eve.

I finally got into my craft room. Now you see you can hardly see the floor because of all the new stuff I just had to have and not used yet. I think it will be till August that I may get it all cleaned up.

Today's card is made from the new stamp set McSplendid Farm from The Greeting Farm, formally known as Pink Poison. I just love this new set. So adorable are all the animals. Now some of you may know that this set has been out for a month and I am just now getting to it. Can you feel my pain!! I have this wonder set here on my work table and no time to get to it. Well time has changed and now I am back among the stamping.

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME:
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl. We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

How to make a Fantastic Gift Card Holder

Today at SCS the Try a new technique challenge was to make a pop up gift card holder. It is awesome Check out this link for a video on how to do it. Hero Art's Club Blog. I used the new Wishing Tree stamp set from Pink Poison. Perfect for this challenge.

Here are the directions as posted on SCS
What you'll need:
4 X 12 Piece of patterned paper (or you can make your own by stamping a piece of 4 X 12 piece of cardstock)
4-1/4 X 4-1/4 Square piece of coordinating cardstock (used as mat for mounting the interior of gift card)
Stamps
Ink
Bone Folder
Craft Knife
Adhesive

* Take your 4 X 12 piece and score it 4" from one end (horizontal orientation) - flip to the other end and score 4" from that end. This will give you a piece divided into 3- 4" squares
* Burnish all score lines with your bone folder
* Take the middle square and fold it in half, creating the Pop Up portion of this card in a "hill" -^-
* Using your gift card as a guide, cut a slit in the center of middle of your folded piece large enough for your gift card to slide into
* Adhere the back side of your pop up portion to your 4-1/4" square piece of cardstock
* Embellish as desired
* Insert gift card (the important part)

Wow life has been busy around here. From working to helping out at our local school book fair to trying to clean house to decorate for Christmas. Now me time so I decided to do some stamping. I used the SCS inspirational challenge today to make this card Here is my Inspiration. Today I was working with Pink Poison, "Anya Teacher stamp". So very fitting for this project. I tell you these little Anya's are just adorable.

Have you also noticed that SU does not have a current purple that is really Purple, kinda like a K-State Purple. I had to go back to my old stash to find Eggplant Envy. Yea for oldies but goodies. Happy Wednesday and it is cold again!!

Well today is another cold day here in Kansas. I need to go and do a few errands before I go to work tonight. But I thought I would check out the sketch challenge at SCS. What a fun challenge. I thought it was perfect for this new stamp set from artful INKables called peaceful Wishes. It has two small squares that is perfect for the bottom of the layout. It is also a first for me to leave my edges naked, yes naked no sponging on them at all. So here is the first of two cards I made with this set.

Well I am supposed to be cleaning and getting ready to decorate for Christmas but no I am instead stamping. This card was just fun to do!! It was like when I used to color all the time in my coloring book. I used an adorable new set from Pink Poison called Home Sweet Home. I used this picture from Boden for the inspiration challenge at SCS.

I used this one for inspiration on the couch. It reminds me of my DD who is always in trouble because she hands on the side of our formal living room sofa. Oh well they are only kids once, right!

Now just look at this little dogs face. Just the cutest thing I have ever seen except my dogs face of course. I made this card for Cory, He loves our dog Roxy and she is always so depressed when he leaves to go back to school.

This set from Pink Poison is called Home Sweet Home. I love the saying Come Home Soon, I hope Cory takes the hint. This was also done for today's Limited Supply challenge at SCS. We were to use different shapes. What fun!! So here is what I came up with. What do you think.

Getting ready for Christmas

I am still working with this wonderful new set of stamps from artful INKables. I decided that it would be a great table decoration for my Christmas table. I made some Chinese boxes from my Cricut cartridge "Tags, Bags, boxes and More". I will use this as the gift box and the matching napkin ring. I think they are really pretty together. The fun thing is you can make them in any color to match you place setting. Mine is usually red and green.

OK I worked the last 4 nights and stayed up to work with this wonderful new stamps set "Frosty Mug Mates" from artful INKables the colors were inspired by the color challenge over at SCS and to VOTE.

When I went to the polls I was expecting long lines. No not here I was in and out in less then 10 minutes, and that is with voting. I am so anxious today about the vote that it is a perfect day to work with my new stamps from artful INKables!! Kristin out did herself with the new releases. Her art is both elegant and fun. Well I decided to try another. This time I used the napkin left over from my DD (Hanna Montana) birthday party. I like the way the background feels using the napkins. Now when I buy napkins for occasions I will have this in the back of my mind for the left overs. I used the Angel Anya stamp for Pink Poison. Oh and don't forget she has 4 new ones coming out November 1st, and they are adorable.

AT SCS the Try a New Technique was to transfer a napkin to freezer paper. I do not have freezer paper so I tried plastic bags. I just used my Price Chopper bag. I layered waxpaper, cardstock plastic bag (cut to size) napkin, and wax paper. It worked like a charm.

All the napkins have at least two layers. even though you may not think they do. If you iron the napkin first the layers will come apart very easy. Also if you go ahead and try without separating you get a lighter effect then you can use it again.

I know I just can't seem to follow the rules!! Although I have never been a just one kind of girl. When I saw this challenge over at SCS to use one word. I thought of this stamp set from Pink Poison (Best Mates) using the words tough and tougher. So one word did stand out to me. I have a friend at work who is now going through chemo for breast cancer. You see we are nurses and well we work with the critically ill all the time it just seems wrong to be one of us. But as most of us know it touches us all and shows no mercy. After clicking on the wrong one and now doing this one. I love both of them, mainly because of the stamps I used. This is another from Pink Poison. Well how has everyone been? My life has been as busy as the rest of you all. I am sick again!!! I cough all night and then drag all day. But on the upside We went to Oklahoma last weekend for the OSU Homecoming and had a great time. I again got my Cory fix!! Now we are home and DH is out of town so it is just me and the Ivi holding down the fort or what ever you call it when we have a lake for a 5 aker back yard.

Well today I made time for my passion and that is stamping and card making. I wanted to do the sketch challenge at SCS and so I did at least I thought I was. I clicked on the wrong date and did an old one. Oh well it is still a great layout. I used an adorable stamp set from Pink Poison called (Cup of Stuff). OH it's Monday!!

Yep it's Monday, I don't feel good, it's cloudy, and I have to work tonight. Oh well put on my happy panties and get on with it.

Today at SCS the Try a new technique challenge was to make a stair step card. Wellll, I wasn't sure I wanted to make one. But then gave it a try.

I used the new stamp set from artful INKables, I tell you this Deer Friends set is just too cute for words.

Here are the instructions for the card if you want to give it a try.

* Cut your cardstock to the size of 10.5 X 5.0 - if you want to stamp on this, now would be the time to do it.
* Score your cardstock at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25" Now fold with hills and valleys (accordion style) making sure that the smallest (1.25" fold) is folded down, as this will be the front of your card) Once you look at the samples, you will see what I'm referring to.
* Now here's the fun part...decorate with ANYTHING...punches, cut-outs, stickers...whatever your theme is, run with it.

Cory came home from OSU late last night to help Rick with the building on his work shop. I am always in such a better mood when I get my Cory fix.

Today over at SCS the inspiration challenge was quite different. It was using Mizue Hirano as inspiration. I thought most of her or his work looked flowing, hence the flowing butterfly.

Flowing, well that was my inspiration on this card. As I looked at Mizue Hirano web sight I just kept thinking that everything was flowing like a butterfly. That is where I took off from. I just love this leaf butterfly from artful INKables new set "Butterfly Blessings". So elegant and so I thought it perfect for this challenge.

Wow looking at the dates it has been awhile. Just like everyone else life just gets in the way. I am making 50 bracelets for my sons fraturnity homecoming booth at OSU. I post a picture later.

So over at SCS the limited supply challenge today was to use rock, paper, scissors.

What a challenge for me. Ok I love to use rhinestones for the rock. Paper well anything to do with paper is fun and fabulous. Now for the scissors. Well I traced the lines on the back of my panels and then cut them out with my scissors. Not a straight line in the bunch. Oh well fun anyway.

Wow what a beautiful morning it is here in Kansas. The tempeture is cool and crisp Ivi and Cory is at school and Rick is at work. So it is just me with my cup of coffee and my stamp room. It can not get much better than that, oh except my house work and laundry needs to be done. Great sketch Challenge over at SCS, I used my new stamps (Autumn's Flowers) from artful INKables thought it worked perfect for this sketch.

I hope to do more cards today but I really do need to go and get some housework and laundry done and start decorating for Halloween.

Well I wanted to do today's challenge but I just do not have the time to do all the steps so I decided just to do a couple of cards with no challenge ties. Something out on my own. Ok so what do you think? This first set of cards are from artful INKables, I used a brand new set "Butterfly Blessings" I you have not been over to artful Inkables in awhile you need to stop by. The new stamps that Kristin has released are just to die for. So what do you think about this card.

I made it into Belle from beauty in the beast. When we were at Disney World Ivi fell in love with Belle several years ago and every day year when she goes back Belle remembers Ivi. We call her our Belle. So this card is going to be sent to her. So here it is, what do you think.

I got my CORY fix

Yes we just got back for Oklahoma State University. Cory is such an awesome young man. I know I say that because I am his mother but when people seek you out to tell you what a gentleman he is, well I just can't explain the feeling in my heart. You know now that he is in a fraternity I thought maybe he might pull away a little but not my baby. He still kisses me on the cheek in front of all his buddies and never pulls away when I go to hug him. We are so blessed to have such wonderful children in both Ivi and Cory. I thought I would share a few photos with you from the dad's weekend we just came back from.

Oh and yes that is a beer my darling son is drinking. I know what is a mom to do.

I know this is not a Deer it's just the name of a fantastic new set just released from artful INKables. I think this little bunny is so adorable.

Yes that is what I said. Rick and I had a discussion on who gets the last cup of coffee this morning and well I won. How you ask I said just that Give me Coffee if you don't want to get hurt. Nope not for me. Thanks Lynn for the Try a New Technique challenge but I just could not master it. I tried. I really don't like working with craft ink at all either. So anyway here is my attempt. Thanks again for a great challenge It really did make me think out side of the box.

Well I missed the inspiration challenge over at SCS yesterday because I just could not get into the rooms that were shown. So after today's challenge was done I took another look. I chose this room from Hotel Fox as my inspiration.

I finally decided on this one because it reminded me of the new Olive You set from artful INKables. I really was going to use the white and olive green but was half way through sponging and then remembered. I just can't make a card without sponging. The keys are for the room, these look like the type of rooms that would use the old standard, Keys. I used room 115

Happy Labor Day Weekend

Well My wonderful son is home from collage and is sick. My husband and daughter have gone to a family Reunion in Missouri. So I stayed home to take care of son. Although he is sleeping most of the time so that gives me time to stamp. I have such a hard life.lol

What a fun Limited supply challenge over at SCS. We were to use something old, borrowed, new and blue. I thought hmmm weddings is August I thought they were in June. Then I remembered We were married in August (duh moment). Oh well I can say I have not had my coffee yet but I have. Ok so
something old: I used my sizzix that just sits there on my shelf to make the leaves.

something new: The stamps set from artful INKables, new release Olive You.

Something borrowed: Well don't don't tell hubby but I went to his shop and borrowed his twine jute.

Something blue: well the paper of course and the dove is colored blue.

Yesterdays Challenge today.

Well I'm so excited about this ways to use it challenge over at SCS, to use my pencils. Only it is really not a challenge for me. I use my Prismacolor pencils daily and love them. I blend them with the orderless mineral spirits (with the way this smells I wonder what the oder spirits smells like YUCK!!). I used the new set from Pink Poison xmas birds just off the presses, or off the rubber stamper. Marie at Pink Poison has the such clear crisp images, and so easy to work with. Let me know what you think.

It's another ARTINK Challenge!
Hi everybody!

This week's challenge for artful INKables is Limited Supplies Challenge, and boy what a challenge it is! I have to have layers and lots of embellishments and well this card followed the rules. I love the way it turned out and guess what it only took me 15 minutes.

For this week's challenge, here are the rules:

1. You may use only 2 layers on your card plus a base (maximum 3 layers)
2. You may use 1 type of embellishment (ie: ribbon or brads)
3. You may use a sentiment
4. Your card must be any size of square
5. No Designer Paper allowed! (GASP!!! I know...but it can be done :)
6. Have fun! - Haul out your Score Pal or Cuttlebug and have fun with this creating some textures!

As with any of the Artful INKables challenges, you are welcome to use stamps by any company and the idea is to just have fun. If you upload your creation to any online gallery, please use the work ARTINK (all in capitals) in the keywords slot so that we may find your card easily to leave a comment! Feel free to link your creation back here as well or to any of the INK girls blogs. Please take a moment to pop by the INK girls blogs to see what they have come up with for this challenge and while your there tell them that I said "hello" lol

Well here is another from that fantastic set Orange You Sweet from artful INKables. I just love this tree and the juice glass is just as wondrful. I used Halloween colors because I thought it might be a sweet treat to pick an orange. No challenges on this card just one on my own.

The Halloween colors were inspired from my flowers as shown in one of the pictures. Let me know what you think.

Top Witch Dog

Well I altered this a bit. I did not do the diagonals from the SCS sketch challenge. It made the card too busy. My cards too busy, thats an oxymoron. Anyway I thought this little guy from the new set of artful INKables, Top Dog would be cute as a little witch. What do you think?? I had to cut the had out myself and used the bat punch from Martha Stewart border punch to make the brim. I kinda liked the way it turned out. I made the card 4x4. Let me know what you think.

Mmmm what to do to a candle and jar.

I love these colors together. I was walking in the Dollar General the other day and saw this candle for $1.00. I thought oh wow it's Ruby Red. So of course I had to buy it and go home and stamp on it. I used the cake slice with strawberry's on it from Pink Poison's Fancy Cakes. The candle I think is Strawberry. So here it is. love to tear paper. I used to do it on almost all of my cards and just got away from it. I used the new set Paradise Island from artful INKables. I thought the torn look would go great with the hut. let me know what you think.

Well have you ever done something you liked and then kept using it over and over. Well it has happened to me. Yellow that is my theme today. On this second card it is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4. I used the new set "Cupcakes" from Pink Poison. Don't you just love Halloween. It is one of my two favorite holidays, with Easter being my other one. Maybe I like both because I can use yellow on both!! So here is my second card.

Great Sketch Challenge over at SCS, I love doing different size cards from the A1. My card is 5x5 using the new set from artful INKables, Orange You Sweet. I love using this set because it is easy to use Yellow. Yellow is my favorite color and I find it hard to work in cards, clothes, home decor. So anytime I can use Yellow I will. Let me know what you think.

Here is another for the color challenge. This time I used a set from artful INKables. Wow I love her stamps. This little dove is so cute. I extended him just a bit from the box. (kinda out of the box thinking)LOL. Oh an well a couple of things I found wrong with this card when I was posting. can you find the errors?? I will be back later to fill you in.

Color Challenge over at SCS

Oh my I love these colors together!! When I first read about them my mind told me too Valentine. But when I pulled them out I thought of this new set from Pink Poison, Cupcake. The lines are so crisp it is easy to layer and I love to layer. Thanks for a great challenge Emily!! I am going to try and show you the process that I go through to make a card. As some of you know I love lots of layers and have to use every bit of material. So this will kinda give you an idea of what the process is.

As you can see this is how I start. I stamp the main image several times so I can color, cut then layer.

here you can see that I try and use every bit of material. So what you don't see is probably not there. It also cuts down on weight when you mail something.

Here is on of my final steps, sponging. I love to sponge. I don't think I have ever made a card that does not have any type of sponging on it.

And of course the pop dots. I must take stock in the company with as many as I use!!
So here is the finished product. Let me know what you think.

Well I really do love this challenge. Here is another one that I made. It actually took me longer I switched the measurements of the acetate and the paper. They did not fit together so I had to start over. I used the bird from the new Pink Poison stamp set Dream Quotes. I just love this little birdie. Here is what I used.

Well it's Monday. I thought the phrase from artful INKables new set Paradise Island was prefect for the start of my week. Ivi is in school and Cory is in Okla. I started a list of to do. Lets see how long it lasts.

Today over at SCS the challenge Try a New Technique is to make a Acetate Treat Box. It really is kinda fun to make. I used the new set from artful INKables called Paradise Island. The lines on this stamp set is so clean and easy to cut out for layering. So look this over and let me know what you think.

Wow has the last few days been busy. Ivi is now in school. We went to Okla to get Cory all squared away in the Fraternity. I presented the Treasure report at the parents club meeting and now.... I finally get to be creative again. My house needs attention but so does my sanity. Here is a card I did for todays challenge at SCS. The featured stamper challenge was of knightrone I decided to case this card. (Happy Birthday Danielle!!) I loved the design of this card and I thought the stamps from Pink Poison would work great. I tell you these new sets that Kristin has designed over at artful INKables are so much fun to work with. In this set there are 3 just adorable dogs to work with. I promise you I will do them all. This little guy looks just like my sisters new baby (J.J.). He weighs about 2 pounds now. The new set I used from artful INKables: (TOP DOG). The possibilities are endless with this set. What I used is mostly scraps on this card. The grid looking thing is actually a window screen. The only things I know for sure are:

PINK POISON!!! WOW!!!

This is my first card for this stamp company. I tell you the detail is amazing. Just look at the bird every little line stamped with such detail. The quality of the rubber is wonderful. I made this card for several challenges over at SCS but mainly for todays challenge LSC180 Lunch Notes I know for todays challenge this card is a bit big, but my DS is heading off to collage next week 4 1/2 hours away and I always send him with a bunch of food for his fraternity room. I made this card to sneak in with the food. I hope he likes it and thinks of mom.

Today's color challenge was to use the retiring IN Colors. I love them all, but can't wait to get started using the new ones SU has out. I used the monkey from the artful INKables set Zany Zoo 1. Today is my 46th birthday, or as my daughter may tell you my 60th or my sister may tell you my 45th. Anyway I woke up to Rick and Ivi saying Happy Birthday. Rick and I went out for breakfast to one of my favorite restaurants Mie, mie's. I love the New Orleans feel of the place. There Rick gave me these red roses. I was so surprised!!. Oh before I left to meet Rick, Cory gave me this card he made for me. Wow a 19 year old fraternity sophomore making his mom a card!! I will treasure this for always. Then this afternoon a knock came at the door and these beautiful flowers with the bear came from my sister Jana. So after all of this can you say SPOILED!!! I am truly blessed with a wonderful and loving family. Ivi said she had a card for me but I could not get it till later. So I will be back with it later.

What a great person to pick for this featured stamper challenge!! I only get to play this every other week do to my work schedule, but I was so happy to play this week. What an inspiration Michelle (Shellapoo) is!!! Here is her gallery, you must go and take a look.

I cased this card. She used coffee as her inspiration and I used wine. I love a good cup of coffee and equally love a good glass of wine. So here is the card I cased.

Frog Sexy, WHAT??

This was a lot of fun. I kinda live out in the country (30 minuets from KC) and kinda live by a lake (1/2 mile away) So at night we have tree frogs on our windows of the bedrooms that seem to be looking in to see what is going on. So I made this card to make my DH smile. What do you think?

Ok well the Direct TV guy is here and Rick is trying to help him (a little too much, he cut a cable he was not supposed to.) So I am trying to stay out of the way and the next best thing for me to do is go and make a card.

Wow this was fun. No restraints just what ever was on my table, and I have to tell you there is allot of scraps!!! My DD is upset because she usually gets the scraps and I just have not cleaned off the table yet. So here is what I came up with. what do you think? Oh and the green thing in the left corner, it's a leaf. Then wind blew just as I was taking the picture and of course this was the one that turned out the best.

So here is my take on the sketch. I just love Giraffes, We went to Colorado Springs a year ago last March to Chiyane Mountain Zoo. There you can feed the Giraffes and that is where I fell in love with them. I made this card for me!!! My birthday is Monday so I thought I would make me a birthday card, hence the sentiment (may all your dreams come true. The stamps used are from artful INKables.

This color challenge was fun. I did not have any Sahara Sand paper so I had to sponge the white with the Sahara Sand Ink. The ribbon really does match the Groovy Guava but in the photo it looks pink. Oh well I still like it. What do you think. You can find the challenge here SCS CC177
