MOM TEST (not writen by me, I received in a email)
I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something
off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away
from her and I asked her not to do that.
'Why?' my daughter asked.
Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's
dirty, and probably has germs' I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked,
'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.'
I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom
Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.'
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently
pondering this new information.
'OHHH . . . I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test
you have to be the dad.'
''Exactly' I replied back with a big smile on my face.

In the Christmas spirit
Today has been a great day. Ivi, Rick and I all went outside and played baseball for awhile. Then Ivi and I made a pumpkin strudel together. We finished cleaning Ivi's room then decided to put up her Christmas tree. What fun that was. I will post a picture when we get it skirted and the tinsel put on it. All this today has put me in the Christmas spirit. So I decided to go and make a winter card. This is what I came up with. I used the sketch from SCS. Let me know what you think.

Wow it has been awhile.
Wow it has been a long time since I have posted here. This has been such a busy time that I can hardly keep my head straight. I know it will only get busier with the holidays coming on. I still have not taken down my Halloween decorations, and I need to put up my Thanksgiving and Christmas. Oh No is it really time to start getting ready for Christmas. Here is a card that was done some time ago. But since I have nothing new I thought I would put this one here.

Mean Moms
Mean Moms
Someday when my children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will
tell them, as my Mean Mom told me: I loved you
enough to ask where you were going, with whom,
and what time you would be home.
I loved you enough to be silent and let you
discover that your new best friend was a creep.
I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours
while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes.
I loved you enough to let you see anger,
disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children must
learn that their parents aren't perfect.
I loved you enough to let you assume the
responsibility for your actions even when the
penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.
But most of all, I loved you enough . . . to say
NO when I knew you would hate me for it.
Those were the most difficult battles of all. I'm
glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.
And someday when your children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them .
Was your Mom mean? I know mine was. We had the
meanest mother in the whole world! While other kids
ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast
When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, we had to eat sandwiches.
And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
different from what other kids had, too.
Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison. She
had to know who our friends were, and what we were
doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.
We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work We
had to wash the dishes, make the beds, learn to
cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash
and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lie
awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.
She always insisted on us telling the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time
we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had
eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!
Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them. While everyone else could
date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16.
Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
things other kids experienced. None of us have ever
been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.
Now that we have left home, we are all educated,
honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean
parents just like Mom was.
I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
It just doesn't have enough mean moms!

How To Tell You Weren't Mom's Favorite
Saturday, September 22, 2007
This is just wonderful. I love all the comments for the blog candy. I already have a great idea for the Thanksgiving Holiday blog candy. My adorable son came home from OSU last night. I have not seen him yet he had a meeting today and I worked last night. I can't wait to just give him a hug. He also brought me a present. 5 loads of laundry. Oh well he's worth it. I wanted to post a picture of my all time favorite card. It was done in the fall colors as well. I just love this time of year.
Gosh this card was done way back in August of 06, and it is still my favorite.

No more blog candy in my signiture line at SCS.
Well I received a P.M. from SplitcoastStampers saying I need to take the blog candy reference out of my signature line. I hope it did not offend anyone. It was not my intention. They also wanted my to reduce my signature to 5 lines. I thought it was just 5 lines. Oh well it would only allow me to enter 2 with a space in between. I would like to know who complained. Oh well water under the bridge. Remember to scroll down to view the blog candy give away on October 1st.

Sympathy Card
I'm getting ready to run into town. I just wanted to do the limited supply challenge over at SCS. Jen does an awesome job at challenging me. This challenge was to make a sympathy card with little materials. No designer paper, that was the hard part for me. I used a SU background called fine lace with delight in life stamp set to stamp flowers on it. I like the colors of lavender and artichoke.
It is always hard to make a sympathy card when you need it, so it is nice to have them made up in advance. So here is a picture of the one I made today.

Blah day
Hmmm, I have not felt like doing much of anything this week. I don't know what is wrong with me. I guess I still am sad that Cory went back to school. I feel so tired. I tried to do one of the SCS challenges today. The color challenge, I really don't like the way the card turned out. Maybe I should go and try to do another or maybe just go and take a nap. As you can tell I like naps. Well here is a picture of the card let me know what you think.

What a weekend
This weekend was great. Cory came home from OSU and we were able to spend some great time with him. Ivi and Rick went fishing a couple of times and cought some great cat fish. I made Cory let me take some pictures of him. Of course Ivi wanted some taken of her as well. She is such a camera ham. I love it. Here are a couple of pictures I took.

SCS sketch challenge
Just another day
I really like this card. I made it for the color challenge on SCS. My new favorite thing is giraffe's. Every since we went to the Colorado Zoo, and petted the Giraffe's I have fallen in love with them. If I could I would send them this card and tell them I miss them. Silly I know. Well I am going to go and try to attempt the sketch challenge so off I go, see you later.

Rick's birthday card
Well tomorrow is Rick's birthday. I made this card for a design team entry with Rick in mind. So this is my card for him on his birthday. I need to stop by the store in the morning and pick up his cherry turnovers. It's kinda a tradition for his birthday and fathers day.
Cory called at least 4 times today. He is attempting his first try at laundry. He also said he will be coming home for a visit on September 7th. I can't wait to give him a hug in person.
Well I will talk with you all later.

Not much to say
Well today is almost over. I worked last night so I slept all day today. I am now at work again.
I had to have a heart to heart with my Son. He is kinda being a little brat to his girlfriend. I know I should stay out of it but he is 4 1/2 hours away and well she is sad also. He is such a sweet and considerate young man I know he will do the right thing. Well I will sign off for today. Talk with you all tomarrow. Oh I still have to get Rick's birthday card done from me.

Happy Thursday everyone. Today is kinda my Monday. I work the next 4 nights. I need to get a lot done between now and Sunday. Sunday is Rick's 47th birthday. I make his cards every year from me and the kids. I finished Ivi's this morning. I try to use a picture of them and incorporate a memory with it. This is a picture of Ivi in Colorado sitting next to a rock in Garden of the Gods. I used a photo editing to distort the picture a bit. I hope to be back later with Cory and my cards.
I would also love to do the SCS card challenge today, it is to make a Halloween card, and I love Halloween. Well buy for now talk with you soon.

Cory at Kappa Sigma
Ok so I will try this again. I have had my glass of wine and my PJ"S are on and I am ready for bed. I thought I would post a picture of Cory outside his new Fraternity house. He has joined Kappa Sigma and seems very happy there already. I think they are keeping him so busy he has not had time to miss me. LOL. Oh well I thought I would try and do another post just to see if I could. Good night everyone.
Well, I just don't understand why I can't seem to master this blogging thing
Ok, now this is the second time I have tried to do this blogging thing and I just can't seem to get it right. I don't know how to get the header a picture I want. Or to get all the fun things I have seen on all the other sights. Oh well.
I made this card today for Cory who is away at Oklahoma State University now. I think leaving him there was the hardest thing I have ever had to do yet. I physically hurt after taking him.
I am so ready for bed already. Once I get Ivi off to bed I am ready to get a glass of wine and then off to sleeping land.
